We got the first bit right. Selling on an player with not too many seasons left for a very good price and made a profit.
We didn't get the second bit right by getting in a decent replacement.
We rarely even get the first right.

That media vs Bellamy thing got dug up again recently. I think it's likely the club - or more specifically Duxbury - was behind it.
Bellamy had publicly said in the early days of his West Ham career that he was expecting to see out his playing days with us. Needing to cash in to keep the lights on, the club sold Bellamy without him knowing about it until the last moment and bought Savio for around £1.5m.
What was said in the media was that Bellamy had wanted to leave for a better club and that we had bought the German/Ugandan starlet for £9m as a direct replacement. Neither of which were true.
As we saw yesterday, Bellamy is very fond of the club and does "get" us. We also saw it at Noble's testimonial a couple of years ago.

I remember reading in some article that Bellamy believes he gets cunted off by West ham fans because of the media's role in his departure all them years ago.
Now I remember singing fuck off Craig Bellamy and who needs Craig Bellamy at the time but I thought this came to a quick stop once he explained the circumstnaces in why he left and that he was forced out.
Since then I can only remember positivite comments to his time here and a feeling that we lost a quality quality player.
